Refund Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
GI Arms accepts eligible return requests made within 30 days after the customer or receiving dealer receives the item. This policy does not limit any non-waivable rights available under applicable law.
Requesting a Return
Contact us at [email protected] before returning any product. Include your order number, the item you wish to return, and the reason for the request. Items returned without prior authorization may be refused.
If a return is approved, we will provide instructions and the correct return destination. Do not send a firearm, ammunition, or another regulated product to an address shown on the original package unless GI Arms specifically instructs you to do so.
General Return Eligibility
Unless an exception below applies, an item must be unused, uninstalled, unaltered, and in the same condition in which it was received, with its original packaging, accessories, manuals, tags, serial-number labels, and proof of purchase. GI Arms may reduce or deny a refund for missing components, damage, use, alteration, installation, or a condition that prevents the item from being sold as new.
Firearms and Serialized Products
Firearms and serialized products must remain unfired and unaltered to qualify for a discretionary return. After a firearm has been transferred to the purchaser, a return will be accepted only with prior approval from GI Arms and must follow all applicable transfer and shipping laws. GI Arms may require the firearm to be returned through the receiving FFL or another lawful method specified in the return instructions.
Do not ship a firearm directly to GI Arms without authorization. The firearm must be unloaded and packaged in accordance with the carrier’s rules and our instructions. Transfer fees charged by a receiving dealer are separate from GI Arms and are not refundable by GI Arms.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for a discretionary return unless they arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect:
- Ammunition, primers, powder, and other hazardous or regulated consumable products;
- Used, fired, installed, altered, modified, or customer-damaged products;
- Custom, special-order, personalized, or clearance/final-sale products;
- Gift cards and downloadable or digital products; and
- Any product that cannot lawfully be returned, transferred, or resold.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
Inspect your order promptly after receipt. If an item arrives damaged, defective, incomplete, or different from what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible and keep the item and all packaging. We may request photographs, serial-number information, or other documentation to evaluate the issue.
For an approved claim caused by our error or a qualifying shipping issue, GI Arms will provide return instructions and will not apply the standard restocking fee. Depending on the circumstances, we may repair or replace the item, coordinate manufacturer warranty service, or issue a refund. Manufacturer warranty procedures may apply, but they do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Cancellations, Denied Transfers, and Unclaimed Orders
Contact us immediately if you need to cancel or change an order. We will try to accommodate the request, but cancellation is not guaranteed after processing or shipment begins.
If a firearm transfer is denied, the purchaser is legally ineligible, the receiving FFL refuses the shipment, required documentation is not provided, or the order is not claimed, GI Arms may cancel the order or arrange a lawful return. Return shipping, carrier charges, and the standard restocking fee may be deducted from the refund to the extent permitted by law. Fees charged independently by a receiving FFL are not refundable by GI Arms.
Restocking and Shipping Charges
Approved discretionary returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. The fee does not apply when GI Arms confirms that the return resulted from our error or a qualifying damaged, defective, or incorrect shipment.
The customer is responsible for return-shipping costs on discretionary returns. If we provide a prepaid label, its cost may be deducted from the refund unless the return resulted from our error or a qualifying damaged or defective shipment. Original shipping charges are not refundable except when required by law or when GI Arms confirms that the return resulted from our error.
Exchanges
We do not guarantee direct exchanges. The usual process is to return the eligible item and place a separate order after the return is approved. Regulated products remain subject to all applicable eligibility, FFL, transfer, and background-check requirements.
Refunds
We will notify you after the return is received and inspected. If approved, the refund, less any applicable restocking fee, shipping charge, or other disclosed deduction, will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the credit.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund, contact us at [email protected].
